HEY ALL!! and the wind begin to howl

Woke up to lots of wind and rain. Had two trees blown over on the driveway. Could NOT get ANY help to remove them!! That seems to be normal lately. So I went out and figured out a way to resolve the issue. Took my sawsall and was able to cut the trees several times and remove them. They are still laying close to the driveway, but it is passable. Had to go into Tacoma and get a new high "e" string for my guitar. Also stopped and got dinner for the night. Then back home and tried to relax. I have been pushing it real hard the last week or so and am just wore down. My legs are weak and my lower back is weak. I can tell what the stenosis does now to my upper legs. There is just NO power there anymore. Still need to put the new chairs up on wood blocks to make them easier to get in and OUT of. Not getting any help with that either. Although some has been promised, just no specific day!! If it goes much longer, you will see me trying to do it, somehow. It is VERY hard for Mom to get out of that chair the way it sits now, but no one seems to care, except me. Everyone is just too busy!! Or something??!! CHOW MOI!!

Some errands and then guitar practice and then got the new chairs delivered yesterday I had to get the old ones out of the house before the new ones arrived. Then had help getting the old ones in my truck so I could take them to the dump. But, was able to get it ALL done!! Now just got to figure out how to raise the new chairs up to the 'proper sitting height' for us old folk!! That will probably be my task tomorrow!! I was so very tired last night. My legs hurt, my back hurt, my shoulder hurt. You get the idea! But, feel better today, took a long HOT sower and am just relaxing and recovering!! I know there will be some 'power chords' in my guitar practice today. I am REALLY liking the guitar to date!! I am enjoying it more and more. I got the items in that I ordered. An assortment of picks from Pick Geek, with a 'click clack' box. They sent 16 picks with various sizes. shapes and thicknesses. Then I got in my music sheet holder, and a bag of 'grip' picks made out of carbon fiber!! Even sold an item from eBay this week!! WOW!! I am thinking about running a BIG discount special on the first of September to see if I can't get a few more buyers. My fantasy baseball teams are starting to reach the 200 starts limit, I only have 4 teams left to get to the limit. Two of those should hit the limit next week. So I am spending a little less time with the jumbling of line-ups etc. I got to drive my truck twice this week, WOW. Other than that just "literally" hummin' and strummin'!! CHOW MOI!!

Getting in lots of practice, I think I'm improving?? Still struggling with switching from chord to chord. And some strumming challenges. But, I am felling more and more comfortable each day with the 'AX' in my hands, so maybe that's progress. I am 'pissed' at my youngest daughter. I have been trying to chat with her for a week now. No luck! Sent texts, sent e-mails, left phone messages. Now I know she is probably some where riding her bike in some back country that doesn't get good reception. BUT, that still does NOT give her a free pass to ignore her dad and G'ma!! It's been three weeks!! That is just TOO LONG for me. I don't ask much from my daughters, but I DO expect them to stay in touch with G'ma and dad!! At their age I was calling home every weekend. I was living in Texas and made it a point to call home. I don't expect every week, but every two weeks would be cool. So young one, if you are reading this, know daddy is pissed and you need to call him, TONIGHT!! Managed to sell an item on eBay this week!! Went and looked at some used recliners yesterday. Ours are just old and worn out. Looks like these will work, they are a year old and in great shape. Well need to make arrangements to get them delivered and figure out what to do with the old ones. This could be a busy week, got the HVAC guys coming, guitar practice, chair shuffle, and who knows what else. CHOW MOI!!

HI ALL!! DirecTV having problems again

Since then I have had issues three times with it NOT showing caller ID. It happened again yesterday. So I did what I have always done in the past, hit re-set and waited. Well this time, TWICE, it came back 'lost satellite signal', then the third time I unplugged it and it ran through all of the tests and came back on. So I called, they tell me can't do anything if it is working OK. Call next time it is in the middle of the problem and they can run a diagnostic on the system and see what the issue is. NICE!?!? Well my first guitar lesson went well. I have been practicing the last several days and fell like I am really struggling to make progress. But, I will keep at it. I ordered several different style picks and a sheet music holder to help me out. I found a guy on eBay that makes leather guitar straps from gun belt leather. I messaged him so see if he could make a black one and color in the Stones logo's he stamps on the strap. Also asked him if he could make a snap on pouch to hold my extra picks in. So I am customizing my guitar already!! I am still really loving it. Just need to keep practicing and three more lessons. Then we'll see. CHOW MOI!!

HEY ALL!! the father, the son and the holy ghost

I have five autographed, framed pictures, two of Nolan Ryan, a Ken Griffey JR, a Don Larsen during his perfect game in the World Series, and a Mick Jagger. People will come in and comment on the pics. I tell them that is my, father, son and holy ghost. Nolan being the 'father', Griffey jr 'son' and Mick 'holy ghost'. I am currently waiting for a guy to come by and look at my two trees I want dropped. He called yesterday from a reference he got from someone my mom knows. Said he'd be here at 11:30 AM, well he didn't show up. So I called him, he was unloading his truck and would be by in about 45 minutes. It's been over an hour since I last talked to him. If you want to loose me right away, JUST BE LATE!!!! I am already thinking this is NOT going well. I will show some patience, but I do have a limit. I think it's a great deal, drop two trees, get the wood! So I will see what he says, IF he even shows up. Got appointments for a guitar lesson and for my heat pump to have it's annual maintenance done. So my week has become a little full. I am sure it's time to go to the store as well. CHOW MOI!!

HI ALL!! rainy summer day we needed it

    "    I know that you like to go out drinking and love to have a good time, you came in when I was drinking coffee, having breakfast on a bad night, I won't interrogate you and I never will berate you for your lifestyle, but where you've been lost weekend, what's that look on your face, it must have been the walk of shame, your eyes are all red get ready for bed, your hair's all over the place    "    Well we are getting a good rain today. I think it was very needed. Been WAY TOO dry, and I hope this helps with the wild fire danger. Plus maybe it will be a start to refill the low water reservoirs around the area. Made appointment today to go into Guitar Center and get some guitar lessons. I just feel I am at a point that I need some direct face to face direction and help. I will sign up for a month's worth and then see where I am from there. I know one thing, that I should be able to find PLENTY of home practice time and that should help. Got the bills paid for another month, and now broke again. Been having a little back problem the last several days. Trying to keep heat and cold on it today and see if it improves any. Got woke up at 5 AM this morning from lightning and thunder had one real LOUD and CLOSE chap of thunder that woke me. Then when lightning would go I could see it lighting up the room. So not a lot of sleep last night. But getting things done today!! Nothing new on eBay. I dropped my store subscription down a level, to save some money. Done to 97 items left to sell. Just take one you know. The BBQ is still holding up, but it just looks scarier each day. Going to have to go looking for a new one first of next month I think. Hope to have a quiet weekend. HEY ALL!! .. more ice cream, it's hot out there

I'll just have to hide inside for a day of two. Nothing going on with eBay, and my fantasy baseball teams are actually dong better the last week or so. I am progressing on my guitar learning. Got four chords down and now learning how to string them together with a rhythmic strumming action. My fret fingers are STILL hurting, but I think getting better. I am feeling more comfortable with the guitar every day. And still really like it. We had a guy from Habitat for Humanity come out yesterday and look at our deck. They are the ones who last painted it. They are looking into any options we may have to get it repainted. I had a chat with him about the deck, the issues we have had, and any ideas he might have. We should hear back in a week or so. Trying to get back into the swing of things after my daughter went home. She text me on Saturday and said she had the old Marantz stereo that mom was going to throw out. I told her to hold onto it and get it to me one of these says. She thought maybe to re-sell on eBay, my first thought was to test it out, and if it is in good shape swap it out with the older Kenmore system that my youngest has. We shall see, I am not sure what shape the Marantz is in.  CHOW MOI!!

My eldest daughter came down on my birthday and tool me gift shopping. Well I ended up with a Les Paul Epiphone Special II Ebony Electric Guitar kit!! Comes with ALL the goodies, amp, bag, cords, picks, tuner, etc!! So I have started to learn. I had NEVER EVEN held a guitar till that day. WOW!! I am thoroughly in love with it. And really have the drive to learn how to play. Should be a lot of fun. Got to have a very nice dinner with her and mom on my birthday. Then yesterday my sister and family came over and had a birthday dinner with them. So just a good fun week. I just REALLY enjoy spending that kind of time with my daughter. Now my next goal is to get my youngest daughter to come down for several days to spend with daddy!! Good luck to me!! Not really anything else going on this week, eBay has been slow, my fantasy baseball teams are doing OK, and Windows 10 is starting to become more clear. CHOW MOI!!

s right there is another birthday coming this week!! S-W-E-E-T... Well even sold an item on eBay yesterday, then got two SMALL offers today. I mean REALLY small, I turned both down in a heart beat. I mean, come on people, I have more patience than to sell something for about 15% of book. I'm EVEN paying postage, in one case I was LOSING money!! Not happening. Should see my oldest daughter for a couple of days this week!! COOL!! I think we will go b-day shopping and get some ICE CREAM!! Not much else going on. One of my fantasy baseball teams has reached the " SP " limit, which means no more starting pitchers, just hitters and relief pitchers for the rest of the season. Mom's recliner broke the other day, it will not lay back and raise the foot rest. I found out it was the main operation bar that broke, can't even weld it, and it looks like it is pressed into two other hinges under the chair. So now she just sits in it!! Oh well stuff happens. So far Windows 10 has been operating good. Still learning how to use it, but I like it to date. CHOW MOI!!
