HI ALL !! Well cyber Monday and the internet is zipping right along? Go figure. The day you think will be a drag isn't. Very nice! Well one other thing about baseball cards. There are many ways to collect them. Some people only collect their favorite team, all makes, all years. Some focus just on their favorite player, chasing after all the regular cards, parallels, inserts, etc. That can be tricky if the player has some 1 of 1 cards. The 1 of 1 can be hard to find, or VERY expensive. Some even collect every thing, or try to. It is not as bad as it was in the 80's and 90's. You had card companies just spitting out set after set after set. I myself focused on just several brands. Topps main set, since 1952, Topps Finest brand, started in 1993 and it has some very cool looking cards, and refractors!! They are so bright and shiny, different colors, orange, gold, silver, blue, green, red, purple, etc. I also collected Topps Heritage since 2001, it was a remake of the old time cards with current players on them, very slick. And then the Upper Deck main set, since 1989. Now I have focused just on the Finest, it is a smaller set, and I can collect the regular cards and the refractors parallel. Not a lot of inserts to chase after, and you have a chance of pulling some autographs that can be sold later for more cards!! The highest selling and sought after cards are the 50's, 60's and up to 73. Those are VERY hard to find in excellent or above condition and can be a challenge to find not altered or colored over. Yes that type of stuff goes on. In fact the Holy Grail of cards is the Honus Wagner T206 tobacco card from 1909-1911. One has been graded as an 8, Near mint /mint and has sold for over $2 million dollars. There is a book out and talk about how this card was cut from a tri-card and made to have sharp corners to pass the grading requirements. WOW !! CHOW MOI
